Wordpress Postgresql

We use PostgreSQL database in our project, so if you want to proceed, download and install the latest version of PostgreSQL. You will also need the PostgreSQL JDBC driver which can be downloaded here.

  • MySQL WordPress Performance. Last but not least (well.) in our test is MySQL. It’s been around since 1994 and is now owned by Oracle. In it’s latest releases there has been lot of great features such as window functions and more JSON features to compete with PostgreSQL. So let’s see how it did. 295 requests/s, 3-4 errors/s.
  • PostgreSQL is a fully featured object-relational database with many enterprise features: ACID transactions, inheritance, unicode and strong support for the SQL-92 standard including subqueries, views, outer joins, foreign keys, sequences and triggers.
  • PostgreSQL is a important database, but WordPress can’t support it now. I hope WordPress will support PostgreSQL. Not only PostgreSQL,but also others databases are not support directly. You must write configs or install plugins then WordPress will works.
  • Loading PostgreSQL Data to WordPress and Vice Versa. Skyvia offers a number of benefits for import WordPress data to PostgreSQL or vice versa. With Skyvia import you can perform any DML operations for imported PostgreSQL data in WordPress, import data from several PostgreSQL objects at once, etc. These features are available for both directions.

It is possible to use PostgreSQL, even though it is not officially supported and it is not recommend for various reasons: The official documentation says, that it would be expensive to realize since every new wordpress version would have to be tested against the other database back-ends and since many plugins also rely on mysql-specific calls it will probably never be possible to make 'everything' multi database.

I assume that you have already downloaded all necessary files, installed Glassfish 3 server, and opened the project in NetBeans IDE.

  1. Copy downloaded JDBC friver to library folder of your Glassfish server. In windows it is %GLASSFISH_HOME%glassfishlib
  2. Start glassfish server
  3. Go to Glassfish Admin Console and open JDBC Configuration
  4. Add JDBC connection pool as shown in the pictures.
  5. Add JDBC Data Source with the name jdbc/PostgreSQL
  6. Deploy the project.

Start Glassfish Server and go to Admin Console
